Peewees Progress
Peewee's Progress
UPDATE ON PEEWEE
Peewee is doing great he had his heart surgery Thursday 2/18, THANKS TO SO MANY ANGELS who donated to make this possible. We raised the initial $2000.00 in the first couple of days, and were able to book his surgery asap. :-) we felt so blessed. Peewee has restrictions for the first week. His ecocardiagrahm showed a successful surgery, and Dr. Cunningham from Tufts thinks, he will NEVER go into heart failiure now, or they significantly delayed it. He'll go back in about 3 months for a follow up, and a few tests. He may need 1 more surgery on his tricuspid valve, but we won't know until his follow up. His foster Mom says it's been hard to keep his activity level limited because he is wanting to run around with his new found energy and normal puppy energy!! She is trying to keep him some what calm the first week, but that has been easier said then done ;-) He's been spending time in a crate, because he feels SO great that he wants to play, play, play!! Which is wonderful, and we know this wouldn't have been possible without ALL OF YOU!! Thank you ALL for caring SO MUCH, it wasn't just your donations that got him through, yes that was a huge part in this, but it was also your thoughts and prayers :-) and we know this kid needed all he could get!!
I personally have to say, we were so overwhemed when we reached the initial $2000. I had tears in my eyes and a great feeling in my heart, as well as, the other volunteers! I knew Peewees surgery was going to be possible, and he had a chance at having a normal life. That joy was so great, and then seeing him Saturday, wanting to nibble on my fingers with tail wagging was just as wonderful lol. Thank you, thank you, thank you!! from the bottom of our hearts!! Please watch for updates!
PEEWEE IS DYING!
2/9/2010
PeeWee is a dying! L
This poor baby Boston Terrier is only 6 months old and will not live
past a couple months (if he is lucky to get that far). He was born in
a terrible puppy mill and was brought to the vet to be put to sleep along
with his VERY loving and sweet mommy! Apparently they were done with
her and knew he was not healthy enough to sell!
The veternarian in Oklahoma called a very good friend of NEABR, Sally M.
who is a Boston Terrier Rescue and she ran right down to saved BOTH sweeties.
Mom has found a WONDERFUL home and now we are looking for EVERYONES help
to save this little fella's life!
We took him to Tufts Animal Hospital in Grafton MA and found out that his
heart is MUCH worse than we originally thought and he needs surgery ASAP
in order to save his short life!! The Cardiac Team at Tufts said this is a very common surgery, and if successful he will live a very normal, happy, healthy life!! There is a 20% chance he may not make it through surgery, but unless we don’t try he’ll die, never having that chance. He’s already come SO far by being saved from a puppy mill. And of course we want a very long happy life for him.
The surgery costs $4000 and there is NO WAY NEABR can afford this cost.
That would mean 16 dogs would die in his place :-( We just can't afford
this type of high surgery since we are a non-profit and only work off our
adoption fees to save our dogs.
Please help us even if it is only $1, any little bit can help. He needs
this surgery ideally within a week so time is of the essence!! His heart is getting worse day by day so the longer the surgery is postponed, the greater the chances are of him not making it L
Donations can be sent to us directly on our Newenglandallbreedrescue.org website, via the paypal donation fee. If making a donation to Peewee’s heart surgery please list in the comment section of paypal for "PEEWEE’S SURGERY”
Just look at this sweet baby, please help us give him a chance.
